IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Amelia Julia
Baltazar
April 8, 1950 – October 19, 2025
Amelia Julia Baltazar, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, teacher, and friend, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on October 19, 2025, at the age of 75.
Born in Nampa, Idaho, on April 8, 1950, Amelia was a proud graduate of Fort Morgan High School, Class of 1968. Her love of learning led her back to school later in life, and in 2012, she graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Northern Colorado with a bachelor's degree in elementary education and an ESL endorsement, a testament to her lifelong dedication to growth, service, and education.
On March 25, 1972, Amelia married the love of her life, Bob Baltazar, and together they built a life filled with love, faith, and deep devotion to family. She is survived by her children, Brian (Sarah) Baltazar and Lisa (Jon) Loomer, and her cherished grandchildren, Michael, Ryan, J.J., Jack, and Lily, who were truly the joy of her life. Amelia delighted in cheering them on, whether they were playing baseball, volleyball, running cross country, or simply spending time with her.
Amelia is also survived by her sisters, Theresa Padilla and Teena Robinson, and by her many nieces and nephews, all of whom loved and adored their "Aunt Amelia" for her kindness, laughter, and generous heart. She was preceded in death by her mother, Melesia Maestes Delgado, and her siblings Willie O'Dell, Arthur O'Dell, and Fernando O'Dell.
Throughout her life, Amelia wore many hats with grace and heart. Her professional life included roles as a respiratory therapy assistant, office manager for Ruth Hume Physical Therapy, travel agent, front office staff at Fort Morgan Middle School, and, most meaningfully, as an ELL teacher at Thomson Elementary in Brush, where she inspired and supported countless students and families.
Amelia had a deep love of travel, always eager to explore new places and experiences. She especially enjoyed quick getaways to Black Hawk, where she liked to try her hand at the slot machines with her signature mix of luck and laughter.
She was also deeply rooted in her community and faith. A devoted member of St. Helena's Catholic Church, she volunteered in many roles and contributed to numerous local efforts. She served as a Cub Scout leader, girls' softball coach, Building Advisory Committee member, and District Accountability Committee member. Amelia gave generously of her time as a volunteer for Festival in the Park, Habitat for Humanity, the Clavis Club, and as an exchange student host mother, touching many lives with her warmth and welcoming spirit.
A Rosary will be held on December 29 at Rowanoak Mortuary at 5:00pm, followed by a Funeral Mass on December 30 at St. Helena's Catholic Church in Fort Morgan at 10:00am. All who knew and loved Amelia are welcome to attend and celebrate her remarkable life.
Amelia will be remembered for her unwavering kindness, vibrant spirit, deep faith, and profound love for her family. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
