Obituary

Betty Lou "Babe" Anderson, a woman of spirited adventure and boundless creativity, peacefully departed this life on March 4, 2026, at her cherished home in Log Lane Village, Colorado. Born on November 9, 1942, in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, she was 83 years old.

The daughter of Eli and Margaret Nicklow, Betty spent her formative years in Pennsylvania, graduating from Uniontown High School in 1960. Always one to embrace new horizons, Betty ventured west to Fort Morgan in the early 1980s, embarking on a distinguished career as a Morgan County Sheriff Deputy. It was a role she embraced with dedication and courage.

Love found Betty on February 18, 1990, when she married the love of her life, Floyd E. "Bud" Anderson, in a ceremony in Las Vegas, Nevada. They shared 34 wonderful years filled with laughter and adventure until Bud's passing in August of 2024. Together, they enjoyed countless cross-country motorcycle trips, creating lasting memories on the open road.

Betty's hands were rarely still, always engaged in her many passions. She was an avid collector of exquisite Fenton glass and found joy in painting and cross-stitching. Her true artistic legacy, however, lies in the breathtaking quilts she meticulously crafted, each a warm embrace for her family and friends. Beyond her personal pursuits, Betty was a dedicated member of her community, serving as the cherished Treasurer of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

Betty's memory will be forever treasured by her loving family: her sons, Paul Jenkins of Fort Morgan, and Bill Jenkins of Newmarket, New Hampshire; her stepchildren, Ken Anderson of Schertz, Texas, Gene Anderson (Karen) of Greeley, Peg Kotschwar of Brush, Donna Dreska of Loveland, Rick Anderson of Ordway, and Andrea Hunter (Dave) of Sun City, Arizona. She leaves behind 18 beloved grandchildren, 16 adored great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and a wide circle of close friends who will miss her dearly.

Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bud; her parents; one brother; one sister; one grandson; and one great-granddaughter, all of whom she now joins in eternal peace.

Condolences may be addressed to the Anderson Family, c/o Rowanoak Mortuary, 231 S. Sherman Street, Fort Morgan, Colorado 80701
