Bonnie Joy Spellmeyer, loving mother, sister, and friend, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2026 after a brief battle with Stage 4 Lung Cancer.

     She was born in Denver, CO on September 22, 1961 to Robert and Donna Shackleton.

     She is survived by her children, Crystal (Tim) Leyba, William (Deven) Spellmeyer, and Tiffany (Seth) Johnson; grandchildren Aryn, Alaska, Savanna, Adrianna, Morrison, Jaelynn, Logan, Brayden, Yeshua, Daken, Isaiah, Sarah, and Zelda; siblings, Debi, Gary (Dorothy), Ted, Bobby, and Gail; and many nieces and nephews.

     She worked as a Certified Nurse’s Aid for over 30 years, 29 of which were at Cedar’s Healthcare. She always believed the best in people and wanted to see them do well. She raised her three children primarily on her own and continued to help them in whatever ways she was able even after they were grown and married. She loved playing cards with her siblings, crafting, watching scary movies and shows, reading, caring for animals, and spending time with people she loved. She leaves behind a huge hole and will be greatly missed.

     We have hope in knowing that she had accepted Jesus as her Savior and is no longer in pain.
