Obituary

With deep love and sadness we announce the passing of Danette Kay Ruppel, who left us on March 30th, 2026. She was the heart of her family, a steady presence in times of need, and a source of warmth, wisdom and unconditional love.

Danette was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and the best of friend, a source of kindness and strength to all that knew her. As a wife, she was a true partner in every sense of the word. She loved deeply, supported endlessly, and stood side by side through life’s joys and challenges. Her commitment, kindness, and shared laughter built a bond that will forever be cherished. As a mother, she gave her whole heart. She nurtured, guided, and protected with a love that knew no bounds. Her encouragement inspired confidence, and her presence brought comfort in every moment. As a grandmother, she was pure joy. Her hugs were the best and her smile was constant. She made each grandchild feel uniquely special and deeply loved. As a friend, she was a light in the lives of so many. She listened with compassion, gave with generosity, and loved without condition. She was the best friend anyone could ask for.

Danette was born on May 19th, 1969 in Greeley, Colorado and throughout her life was known for her resilience, warmth, and sense of humor. Danette graduated from Fort Morgan High School in the class of 1987. In 1990 she married her high school sweetheart Robert Ruppel Jr. of Fort Morgan where they have lived their entire lives. Danette worked at Bank of Colorado for many years, along with owning and operating Ruppel’s Plumbing and Heating with her husband. Danette had 6 grandchildren who were her pride and joy. Wade, Blayne, Kamreigh, Aiden, Maverick, and Chase. She loved spending time with them and making all the memories she could. She also loved camping trips with family and friends, baking, and most of all making sure the property looks perfect. If you knew Danette, you knew a person that would listen, respect, and love you. Danette looked forward to all the adventures with her husband.

Her legacy is one of love, strength and selflessness. She touched countless lives and leaves behind a family and community forever changed by her presence.

Danette is survived by her husband, Robert Ruppel Jr of Fort Morgan, her daughter, Amber Ruppel (Reggie Camacho) of Fort Morgan, her son, Blair (Madison) Ruppel of Weldona, Colorado, her 6 grandchildren, Wade, Blayne, Kamreigh, Aiden, Maverick, and Chase, her parents, Nick (Diane) Davey of Fort Morgan, her sister, Erin (Jeff) Groves of Castle Pines, Colorado, her nephews  Landry and Kaden Groves of Castle Pines, Colorado, her in-laws, Robert (Cheryl) Ruppel Sr of Fort Morgan, her sister-in-law, Chelle Ruppel of Fort Morgan, and many more relatives.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Emilio (Cora) Covelli of Weldona, William (Lucille) Davey of Fort Morgan and her uncle Emilio “Thomas” Covelli of Weldona.

She truly was the best wife, mom, grandma and friend anyone could ask for- she will be deeply missed, endlessly loved and forever remembered. Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in the love she gave and the memories she leaves behind.

A celebration of life will be held for family and close friends, with no service at her request.
