Darus Gene Hagen, born July 30th, 1957 in Flint, Michigan passed away peacefully on April 17th, 2026.

     Darus moved to Colorado in 1982 after after moving from Michigan, where he was born, and he always held Michigan as a special place in his heart. He lived in Elizabeth, Colorado, as well as Eaton and Westminster before moving to Fort Morgan in 2012. Darus married his wife Jackie in 2013, and they remained together until the time of his passing. He worked as an industrial electrician for many years, and was proud to be a member of the Denver area Mustang Restoration Club. Darus loved to work on cars, watch University of Michigan football and listen to rock music from the 70’s.

     He was known as Mr. D by the neighborhood children and often fixed their bikes and other toys, as well as helped the neighbors with small tasks whenever he could.

     Darus is preceded in death by his uncle, Kenny Nezmitz, who played a very important role in his childhood.

     Darus is survived by his wife, Jackie Ebacher, his Mother-in-law and mother of his heart, Monna Curless, his father, John Hagen, his daughters, Heather(Joe) Cantu and Amber (Michael) Archer, his brothers, Kevin Hagen, Lonny Hagen, and Fred Hagen, his sister, Nikki Nash, and three grandchildren. He is also survived by his dog, Mister who was his constant companion.
