Obituary

Floyd "Bud" Anderson Jr. was born on March 26th, 1934 to parents Floyd and Roxie Anderson in Missouri. He passed away peacefully on August 27th, 2024, surrounded by his family.

Floyd married Betty in Las Vegas on February 18th, 1990, and they remained together until his passing. Born in Missouri, Floyd moved to Akron, Colorado when he was just five years old. He attended Akron High School, graduating in 1952. Floyd lived in Brush, Colorado until 1990 when he was married and moved to Log Lane Village.

Floyd was a Seabee in the United States Naval Construction forces. He was honorably discharged as CM3 with a grade of E4. Floyd also worked as a firearms instructor while stationed in San Diego. Floyd then worked for YW Electric in Yuma before moving on to work with Western Area Electric, later being promoted to Supervisor with them. He retired in 1994.

Floyd loved the outdoors, and especially loved to hunt deer and elk. He was often found fishing, camping, riding motorcycles or enjoying an ice cold beer. In addition to riding motorcycles, Floyd enjoyed maintaining his Cushmans. He was a proud member of the VFW, and served as chaplain for many years. He attended Life Fellowship Church of Fort Morgan as well. After his retirement, Floyd traveled through every U.S. state with his wife.

Floyd is survived by his wife, Betty Anderson, his sons, Richard Anderson, Gene Anderson, Kenny Anderson, and William Jenkins, his daughters, Peggy Kotschwar, Andrea Hunter, and Donna Dreska, his brother, Robert Anderson, 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Floyd is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Roxie Anderson, his sister, Betty Powell, his daughter-in-laws Deborah Anderson and Kelly Anderson, his grandson, Michael Anderson, and his great-granddaughter, Kayla Harris.
