Francis Darrell Kirvin was born on November 24th, 1947, in Texarkana, Arkansas, to parents Thomas Jefferson Kirvin and Doris Ruth Harvin. Francis passed away peacefully on November 24, 2022.

During his high school years in Las Cruces, New Mexico, he met Nancy Kathleen Lofton, who would become the love of his life. Their love story took an adventurous turn when they eloped in Mexico on March 10th, 1966, and later made their bond official in the states on July 30, 1966. Francis and Nancy enjoyed 56 years of marriage together and always were an excellent example of love and commitment to their growing family.

He also played the Baritone for his Las Cruces High School lettering and developing a life long love of music.

Following his passion for science, Francis pursued higher education at the University of New Mexico (Go Aggies) the University of Houston (Go Cougars), earning his Bachelor's in Mathematics, then furthering his education with a Masters of Telecommunications from the University of Colorado (Go Buffs) in 1993. Throughout his professional journey he stayed in the IT field, which began at Southwestern Bell, later transforming into ATT, and eventually Lucent, retiring finally in 2012 from PSB.

In 1971, he welcomed his son, Jeffrey Kirvin, and later experienced the joy of having a daughter, Heather Kirvin, born in 1977. As a loving father, he treasured the moments shared with his children, and later, the arrival of his beloved grandchildren - Jade, Devin, and Maya, Ariel and Venya. His love for sports, science fiction, music, and all things geeky were contagious, leaving an enduring impact on his children.  He also enjoyed studying the Spanish language in his retirement as well as hanging out with his beloved coffee group.
