IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Fred J.
Romero
November 1, 1968 – October 5, 2023
Fred Romero was born November 1, 1968, to parents Libby and David Romero in Fort Morgan,
Colorado.
Fred loved baseball, and growing up he dedicated himself to the sport. By the time he had graduated from Fort Morgan Highschool, he had attracted the attention of multiple colleges, and earned himself a full-ride scholarship to Hesston College in Kansas where he would study architectural engineering.
The outdoors were a major part of Fred's life, and after a few years in college he realized that a career as an architect would have him stuck in an office, and that the field was not for him. When he left college he had aspirations to work with his hands and build great things, and that is exactly what he did. Fred worked as a contractor for other construction companies for 17 years, and ran his own contracting business for 13. He completed well above 3,000 projects throughout his career, and took great pride in his work.
He would often say that his job never felt like work, and that his favorite things about his career were helping people realize their dreams and seeing his work finished to the high standards that he set for himself. He took on many jobs later in life, and was proud of his work ethic and commitment to quality.
Fred was raised Catholic, and was baptized, reconciled, and confirmed into the Church. He remained true to his faith in his heart throughout his life.
Fred enjoyed nature, and the passtimes that he enjoyed most away from the construction site reflected that. He loved to hunt, fish, and cook for friends and family, especially from the barbeque grill. He enjoyed going to the shooting range and was a lifetime member of the NRA.
Fred Leaves behind him a legacy of hard work and respect for others, and will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
Fred is survived by his mother, Libby Romero; his son, Cross Romero; his daughter, Alexandria
Stahl; his brothers, David Romero, Nathaniel Romero, Michael Romero, Eric Sepulveda, Junior
Sepulveda, and Joe Padilla, grandchild Luna Romero; and multiple nieces and nephews.
Fred is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Joe and "Lupe" Guadelupe Cordova; his paternal Grandparents Federico and Mary Romero; and his father, David Romero.
