Obituary

James "Jamie" Robert Cameron passed at his home in Orchard, Colorado on December 24, 2023. He was born to Sarah Jane (née Buffington) and Bruce William Cameron on July 8, 1970, in Rifle, Colorado.
Jamie grew up in a tight-knit family, spending his summers with his Aunt Dolly, Uncle Ned and his cousins on the western slope. This is where he developed his strong work ethic and his love of hunting and fishing. He attended primary and middle school in Kremmling at West Grand and graduated from Central High School in Grand Junction, Colorado.
After graduating, he followed in his father's footsteps and entered the mining field. Mining took him across the United States to at least 17 states including Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, Arizona, Colorado, South Carolina, West Virginia, Illinois, Idaho, Tennessee, Ohio, Montana, Louisiana, Texas, New York, California, and Missouri.
It was in Missouri that he met and married Kathy (née Sallee) Brincefield in 2000. Jamie entered the Brincefield family and became a beloved stepfather to Tommy, Crystal, Melissa, and Jessica and eventually a beloved grandfather and great-grandfather.
Jamie was known for his natural ability to run equipment. He enjoyed collecting guns and knives. An avid outdoorsman, he loved to ATV, fish, and hunt. He will be remembered for his woodworking and tinkering with old vehicles and equipment, but most of all, Jamie will be remembered for facing his challenges head-on and being extremely tough. He will also be remembered for the time he spent with his family, his generosity, and his willingness to help others.
Jamie is survived by his wife Kathy Cameron of Hibbings, Minnesota; his stepchildren Jessica (Damon) Schneider of Hillsboro, Missouri, Melissa (Joe) Mathews of Britt, Minnesota, Crystal (Leon) Nicols of Warroad, Minnesota, and Tommy (Vanessa) Brincefield of Hibbing, Minnesota; mother Sarah Cameron of Alliance, Nebraska; brother Bill (Kim) Cameron of Kremmling, Colorado; sister Christina (Bryan) Trout of Alliance, Nebraska; and aunt Dolly (Ned) Prather of DeBeque, Colorado; cousins Paul Prather of Moscow, Idaho and Jake (Amber) Prather of Wray, Colorado; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind many people who called him friend.
He is preceded in death by his father Bruce Cameron; his grandparents John Buffington, Betty Kincaid, and Helen Rogers; uncles Gary and John Buffington, mother-in-law Pauline Salee, and brothers-in-law Ronnie Salee and Harold Cox.
Private services for Jamie will be held in the summer of 2024.
