Obituary

Jason Robert Kreegar was born January 6, 1975 to parents Michael and Marsha Kreegar in Friona, Texas. He passed away on September 12th, 2026 surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with glioblastoma.

Jason married the love of his life, Amy Katherine Teter on November 16th, 1996 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Morgan. The two raised a strong family of three children and nurtured a loving relationship with their 5 grandchildren over the course of nearly 30 years.

Jason grew up moving between Texas and Iowa with his family and finally settling in Morgan County in 1984. He attended Fort Morgan Schools and found employment with Willard Reid Lumber (now Bloedorn’s) for over 10 years before moving into a career in construction. Jason built pole barns for various companies for a decade before transitioning to work with Cargill. He started out as a 3rd party contractor with Jarvis and later was hired by the company directly to work on their maintenance team.

Jason lived life as a Christian, but came fully into the Lutheran faith in October of 2025 when he was baptized.

Jason loved cars, but especially those with an AMC emblem. He collected Hotwheels as a hobby and greatly enjoyed spending time working in his garage on all kinds of projects, from cars to carpentry. Jason had a sharp sense of humor and a colorful vocabulary. He loved a wide variety of music from hard rock to classical. Jason was at times accused of listening to music too loudly, but knew in his heart there was no such thing as music being played too loud. Jason made a point to assign everyone in the family their own nickname, and received one of his own when he became a grandfather, as his grandkids lovingly called him ”Pops”.

Jason is survived by his wife, Amy Katherine Kreegar, his mother, Marsha Kay Kreegar, his sons, Jordan (Jayden) Kreegar and Jayce (Alexis) Kreegar, his daughter, Alayna (Rene) Cardenas, his sisters, Kelley (Uwe) Kreegar and Missey (Greg) Shaver, his grandchildren, Aria Kreegar, Kiara Cardenas, Dawson Kreegar, Hattie Kreegar, Nora Kreegar, and a baby Cardenas on the way. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jason is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Morris and Eloise Kreegar, along with his maternal grandparents, Robert and Dorothy Pemberton, and his father, Michael Anthony Kreegar.

Services will take place at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Morgan, CO starting at 10am on September 19th, 2026.
