Jessica C. Serna, lovingly known as Jess, passed away on June 4, 2026, in her hometown of Fort Morgan, Colorado. Born on February 6, 1980, Jess’s life was marked by devotion to her family, a warm sense of humor, and a steadfast dedication to the values she held dear.
A lifelong resident of Fort Morgan, Jess graduated from Fort Morgan High School in 1998. It was during that summer that she met her life spouse, Heith Camacho, at their shared workplace. This meeting blossomed into a lifelong partnership centered around love and family. Together, they raised three sons—David Luis Serna, Dominic Lee Serna, and Aiden Joseph Serna-Camacho, who were the greatest joys of Jess’s life.
Jess was a woman who valued simplicity and structure and her home was a testament to her pride in keeping things clean and orderly. Her love extended beyond her immediate family to the animals she cherished, especially her cat, and to the beloved nieces and nephews who were an essential part of her world.
Her strong faith was a lifelong guide, and she was a member of St. Helena Catholic Church. Jess found joy in the music of the late ’90s and early 2000s, often bringing lightness and laughter with her naturally funny and keen sense of humor. She approached life’s moments with a punctual and hardworking spirit, often responding to challenges with, “Whatcha gonna do,” which was a great reflection of her resilient and grounded nature.
She is survived by her beloved spouse Heith Camacho; her sons David Luis Serna, Dominic Lee Serna, and Aiden Joseph Serna-Camacho; her parents Oscar Serna and Ginger Romero; and her brother Oscar Greg Serna.
Jessica was preceded in death by her grandmother Helen Rose Serna and her grandparents Roman and Maria Lusia Serna.
