Joel
Beatty
Jun 21, 1961 — Jun 10, 2026
Joel Christian Beatty passed away on July 10, 2026, at the age of 65. He was born on June 21, 1961.
Joel attended Fort Morgan High School, graduating in 1979.
Joel was one of those rare people whose authenticity shone through in everything he did. He was humble, kind, genuine, open-hearted, and deeply grateful.
Music was one of Joel's greatest passions. He loved discovering and learning about every genre imaginable, including international music. He eagerly listened to recommendations from others and always had thoughtful suggestions of his own to share. His love of music extended beyond listening—Joel was a talented guitarist and loved playing his electric guitar. True to his humble nature, he rarely spoke about his musical abilities, and many people never realized just how gifted he truly was.
Joel's other great passion was bicycling. As an avid bicyclist, Joel spent as much time as possible on his bike and even competed in races. He was a skilled rider who looked forward to every opportunity to ride.
Joel possessed an extraordinary curiosity and a remarkable intellect. He loved researching new subjects, engaging in meaningful conversations, and continually expanding his knowledge. Whether discussing history, science, technology, music, or the possibility of life elsewhere in the universe, Joel approached every topic with genuine curiosity, enthusiasm, and an open mind.
Joel also found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved coffee and especially cherished the time he spent at In The Mood Coffee Shop when it was open. During the summers, he mowed lawns, and later in life, he devoted himself to helping care for someone close to him.
Joel's kindness, quiet intelligence, humility, and passion for learning and music left a lasting impression on everyone who truly knew him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for the genuine way he lived his life.
Though he is no longer with us, it is easy to imagine Joel beginning his next journey the way he would have wanted—rocking out to great music and bicycling into the next chapter.
