Kyan Bane Jones, age 21, passed away unexpectedly in his home on August 8, 2025 with his mother and grandmother at his side. Kyan, the son of Pam and Kyle Trautwein, was a tremendous joy to his family and will be greatly missed. Kyan was born in San Diego, California and lived in North Carolina, Nevada and Colorado in his lifetime.

Kyan enjoyed artistic and creative endeavors. He enjoyed using unusual materials when making his creations. He particularly enjoyed colored packing peanuts, spray painting items and was a hot glue genius when using various body parts from plastic figures and turning them into new and improved creatures. Some of those creatures would make excellent additions to horror shows! He loved the outdoors and greatly enjoyed driving for hours at a time, hiking, swimming and flying anywhere. He could spend hours at the airport just watching the planes coming and going. His latest fascination was in 3-D printing. He enjoyed making various creatures and other items. His huge collection of Buzz Lightyear, and a large collection of 3-D printed octopi (that would make a hardcore hoarder proud), will be greatly protected and treasured by his family.

Kyan is survived by his parents, Kyle and Pam Trautwein, brother Dendi, grandparents Kim Dean, Neil Webster, Lisa Trautwein, great-grandparents Arthur Luke and Laura Trautwein and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Kyan was a bright star in our family and we feel his loss deeply.

Funeral Services will be held at Rowanoak Mortuary at 231 South Sherman Street, in Fort Morgan on Saturday, August 16th at 2 p.m. Donations may be made in Kyan's name to The Arc of Northeast Colorado, P.O. Box 338047, Greeley, CO 80633 or via their website at arcneco.org.
