IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Teresa
Emmons
November 13, 1949 – March 5, 2024
Teresa Emmons- known as Nana by most that knew her- passed away peacefully on the morning of March 5th in Greeley, Colorado.
Teri Emmons was born in Portland, Oregon to parents Richard Rand Hubbard and Virginia Mae Hubbard (Black) on November 13, 1949. She was raised and spent most of her life in Southern California. She married and had a daughter, Holly Meek, with Richard Meek in 1966. They were married for three years before she moved back to live with her mom in Anaheim. She has worked in many places but spent 26 years at Pacific Bell. In California she developed many relationships through her work. Between the years of 1977 and 1979 she met Richard Emmons, a former Marine that served in Vietnam. After many years together (and many proposal attempts by Rick) they married in 1984. During their marriage, she extended her friend network immensely with a pigeon racing club that they were a part of, as well as Rick's existing Masonic lodge duties and friendships. They enjoyed going to Cancun with her dad, her sister, Gloria, and her nephew, Jim, taking their camper around places in California where Rick "Papa" could fish. Nana loved her dogs, especially Patches, and her cat, Stinker, and they became her babies after her own had flown the nest. They were married until 2013 when Rick passed away peacefully at home.
Not long after the passing of her husband, Nana moved to Colorado to live closer to her great grandkids. She was very involved in their lives and started a part time job at Steiner, SILS. During her time in Colorado, her family extended to include many surrogate grand and Great grandchildren. She also tried to spend as much time as possible with her nephew, Jim Steiler, and his family who she was very close to. Nana was a loving person who valued her family and the people she added to her family with her generous nature.
Teri is survived by her many family and surrogate family members: sister, Patricia Hubbard; brother, Rick Hubbard; half-sister, Crysstal Rose Hubbard; and daughter, Holly Marsh; her grandchildren Megan Brown of Colorado and Nick Chilton of California; great Grandchildren Heylee (Alix) Reicks, Hannah Hansen, Harmony Hansen, Haevyn Brown of Colorado and Cameron Chilton of California. As her surrogate grand and great grandchildren are too many to name, they are as follows by family name: Mayhugh Family, Lowe/Stevens Family, Nicolet Family, Montel Family, Ritter/Wolever Family, and Young Family.
She is Preceded in death by her sister, Gloria Hubbard; husband Rick Emmons; father, Dick Hubbard; grandsons, Michael and Duane Reicks; sister, Judy Dacosta; and her mother, Virginia Abernathy.
Digital condolences may be left for the family below, and any mailed condolences/contributions may be addressed to the family of Teresa Emmons in the care of Rowanoak Mortuary & Crematory at 231 S. Sherman Street, Fort Morgan, CO, 80701.
