IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Trevor Louis
Sanders
September 7, 1995 – August 25, 2025
Trevor Louis Sanders, 29, of Fort Morgan, Colorado, passed away peacefully at home on August 25, 2025.
Trevor was born September 7, 1995, in Burlington, Colorado, to Rob and Marci Sanders. He grew up in Brush with his brother Trent, where he attended elementary and middle school, later graduating from Merino High School. During his high school years, Trevor was an active member of Drama Club and FCCLA. His involvement opened doors to many opportunities, including spending Saturdays in Denver his senior year working with Kaiser Permanente to develop an app designed to support children with social and emotional needs. He also testified before the Colorado Senate in support of breakfast-before-the-bell and free meals for students, and was part of a team that advanced to the FCCLA national conference in Nashville, Tennessee. Trevor cared deeply for his classmates, and he was one of six students who created a school-wide event to educate peers about the dangers of drugs, ending with an activity where students left painted handprints on the walls—handprints that remain there today.
Trevor's impact reached far beyond school. From a young age, he found joy in books and reading, a passion that guided him into his career at the East Morgan County Library. He began volunteering in eighth grade for the summer reading program, which blossomed into a lifelong devotion to libraries and their patrons. Trevor supported a variety of programs, especially enjoying his role in introducing new activities in the library's lab. His favorite part of the job was building relationships with patrons, learning about their interests, and helping them discover
books, resources, and activities that inspired them. His love of reading, paired with his genuine
care for others, defined his work and his life.
Beyond his career, Trevor's curiosity and creativity shaped many of his hobbies. When something caught his interest, he dove in wholeheartedly—whether it was knitting, crocheting, baking, canning, target shooting, or even learning to fly a plane. Trevor cherished time spent with family and friends, from camping trips, Dungeons & Dragons nights, family game evenings, attending concerts, traveling, and spending time in the outdoors.
Trevor is survived by his mother, Marci Sanders, and stepfather, Jack Schneider; his father, Rob Sanders, and stepmother, Amanda; and his siblings, Trent Sanders, Keelan Anderson, Seymour Anderson, Collin Schneider and Kati House. He is also survived by his grandparents,
Everett and Barbara Moreland, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Peg and Richard Sanders, and his uncles, Patrick and Rick Sanders.
Trevor will be remembered for his kindness, creativity, and unwavering love for people, learning, and life.
Condolences may be addressed to The Sanders Family c/o Rowanoak Mortuary, 231 S. Sherman Street, Fort Morgan, Colorado, 80701.
